Salman Khan VEER shoot cancelled due to swine flu!!

Bollywood News: Salman Khan, the macho man of bollywood who was scheduled to shoot for upcoming mega- budget flick ‘Veer’ for five days in Pune’s Agricultural College, has canceled the shoot due to on- going swine flu scare in that city.

Sources say that Salman Khan and director Anil Sharma(of ‘Gadar’ fame) did not want to put the lives of unit members to any risk and so decided to complete those portions in a studio shoot in Mumbai itself, rather than go for an outdoor shoot. Insiders reveal that as the Salman Khan starrer flick has a period look, with Salman donning a warrior look complete with sword etc, Pune’s location was considered to be the ideal for the shoot.

But, with rising death toll in that city, it would not have been prudent on the part of producer Vijay Galani and director to put the health of a large number of people at risk for their cause.

As the movie had already been delayed due to several outdoor spells in London etc, Salman Khan and director Anil Sharma did not think it proper to wait for Pune spell after the fixed schedule and instead went for the same shot in Mumbai.

Though it involved a huge cost for the producer as the set for the film had already been erected in Pune, but taking into consideration the availability of Salman Khan and other stars’ dates, the decision seemed wise.

Earlier, Karan Johar, too, had canceled the two day shooting spell for his upcoming flick ‘Kurban’, which was scheduled at the same location. ‘Kurban’ stars Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead and they were all set to leave for the shoot on Friday. However, at the last minute producer Karan Johar decided to cancel the shoot due to swine flu scare in the city.

The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that even Hrithik Roshan has asked his ‘Kites’ co star Barbara Mori to fly to India from Mexico due to swine flu. It is said that the menace of swine flu is more severe in Mexico than in our country, and Hrithik Roshan wanted to help Barbara on such a critical moment in her life.

It may be recalled that when Barbara Mori was in India during the shoot of ‘Kites’, Hrithik Roshan’s married life with Suzanne Khan was almost on the verge of collapse due to their steaming hot kissing sequence in the flick. It will be interesting to see if Barbara comes to India on Hrithik’s invitation.

Meanwhile, Oprah Winfrey, the popular American talk show host, has cancelled her visit to the country due to dreaded flu. She was coming on the invitation of music maestro A R Rahman. Even Julia Roberts is expected to cancel her tour to India till the situation stabilizes.
