A Joyride for the Kids From ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ in U.S.

The kids of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ were too excited to visit America for the Academy Awards. Apart from walking the red carpet at the Academy Awards these starlets of Slumdog Millionaire also got a chance of making a trip to Disney Land where they posed with Mickey Mouse.

Director Danny Boyle endeavored to cast authentic actors for the role-play thus, there couldn’t be a better cast than a kid born and brought up in the slum! Undoubtedly these kids have faced a tough time; as Azharuddin Mohammed’s (the boy who enacted youngest Salim in the film) parents stated, “He’s supposed to be the hero in the film but look at how he’s living.” While Rubina Ali who played the child side of lead character Latika never imagined this spree approaching. “Not in my dreams did I ever think I would go to America”.

Meanwhile the producer Christian Colson and director Danny Boyle paying their families a stipend and setting up trust funds for the kids. We wish these children do well in future. In the meantime your precious comments are much awaited.

  1. I LOVE this movie. I'm so glad this movie was made which highlighted the plight of India. I hope that the families in the slum areas are assisted by the Indian government and the Indian millionaires. The atrocities that children face world-wide continues to increase yet so little is done by their governments. India is carded to be one of the future superpowers of the world yet their most important resource needs the most help.
