
The buzz is that Amitabh Bachchan has turned down an invitation of former US president Bill Clinton to participate in his Clinton Global Initiative after the terror strikes in Mumbai.
The Clinton Global Initiative was supposed to be held on the 2nd and 3rd of December and global leaders of different backgrounds across the world were to meet and discuss different topics of energy.
Amitabh Bachchan said, ” I am not going to leave my country in this troubled hour to travel to a foreign land to lend cause to a foreign initiative, patronized and guided by a foreigner, for his benefit. I need to see initiative here in my country.”
Big B also cancelled his participation in Live Earth. It was supposed to be taking place on the 6th and 7th of December in Mumbai where lots of other Bollywood celebrities including Abhishekh, Aishwarya, Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar will be performing by lending their voices to promote the cause of preventing global warming.
Big B further added, “I am not going to sing and dance at a time when my country and city bleeds. They can keep their initiative to themselves.”
Commenting on the political system he said ” I have never observed the extent of severe anger in each and every individual of this country towards those that sit in the seat of authority and power.”
